Hall Tree

Many say home is where you hang your hat,
I believe there's something to that.
I've been in the military and was shipped place to place,
I've seen many forms of the human race.
At times my mind was so occupied,
the place I was at is where I felt home inside.
I crawled into a bed or a cot in a tent,
wondering how far the next day my mind would be bent.
Training for this and training for that,
It was such a relief to take off my hat.
then after I laid down and I started to drift away,
I could dream of my loved ones and the place that they stay.
After the training I'd get shipped again,
never knowing how each new day would end.
