Some poems are written great, some poems are written well, but then there are those poems that could win a prize in Hell.
Look deep inside your soul and think
of that forever bonding link:
a link that is, oh, so long;
a link that is, oh, so strong.
This link that I am speaking of
Deep within the ancient dragon’s lair
are claw marks on the walls and stale, dark air.
Bones are scattered as twigs upon the floor.
Tammy and Toby lived on the opposite shores of a magical lake far away.
They would go to the water’s edge daily and watch each other play.
Why do I Love and Hate life at the same time?
With the joys and torments that run through my mind.
Is this something strange or normal to see?
There is nowhere to go that you haven’t already been.
There isn’t any guilt, fear, or sin.
Love and hate, good and bad, sleepless nights, often sad.
I remember those times of our youth and our bliss,
and how your eyes gleamed with that first kiss.
The paths we walked were one pleasure to another.
Babies will be born and they will grow.
They will have feelings yet some won’t show.
They will be taught without lessons to learn,
I love your big brown eyes that look so serene.
The light that sparkles from them have a beautiful gleam.
But, it’s not your eyes that tell all the love you have within.
