Simple Things

If I could have two things before my death,
it would be the taste of your kiss and the feel of your breath.
These simple things mean so to me,
they take me to realms of serenity.
From the first time our eyes met to the end of all time,
you'll be the love of my life heart, soul, and mind.
Even though our bodies will wither and become frail,
when they take their last breath there will be a new trail.
When we begin our new life and labors of love,
whether on Earth or Heaven above,
our paths may never cross in the futures to be,
yet we'll still be connected through infinity.
For once two lovers become two souls as one,
the bond will forever be no matter what comes.
