  In a small Illinois town they call Newman,
A person took over a grocery store that had a new plan.
His Name was Mike, he was quite a friendly guy,

 I've climbed the mountain of depression and saw the peaks and valleys below.
I've been sad lonely and cold it felt like my veins were filled with snow.

    Many say home is where you hang your hat,
I believe there's something to that.
I've been in the military and was shipped place to place,

    I just took a bath,
I feel so squeaky clean.
But, when I looked in the tub,
there was a lime green ring.
"Where did this come from?

   I've never lost at love for it is not a game,
the ones that left my side remain only in a name.
The kisses that I felt from warm and moistened lips,

    Life is like a pendulum swinging to and fro,
the events of your next day's uninterrupted flow.
Alas oh tired and weary friends who live a life of woe,

    Well it's now become a brand new year.
Will it be filled with love or filled with fear?
So as we're entering Twenty-Twelve,
with so many things on our shelves,

        Are our steps numbered from beginning to end?
Or do our lives roam as free as the wind?
We were all born and we will all die,
Is there a reason for us to ask why?

 A poet's pen can move a mountain in your mind from place to place.
It can also move your heart and soul to where time cannot erase.
