The Thief in the Night

    I'm praying I don't have to pray any more,
I've got holes in my jeans where my knees hit the floor.
Seems the harder I pray the further you go,
I just hope that one day your love will show.

   When you return I will pray no more,
I will just be smiling on the way to your door.
I've seen so much pain in this world that I'm in,
Too much sorrow that seems guided by sin.

   You'll take back the souls Satan did steal,
Nourish them with spiritual faith as a meal.
Then bring all the angels to Earth down on him,
After this battle true love will begin.

   I've read your holy word, tried to do what's right,
I'm just a waiting for the thief in the night.
Mankind will be happy and in heaven they'll sit,
As Satan burns with his demons in his own fiery pit.
