Possessions and Attachments

What attachments do we experience and see,
that can cause pain and makes us not free?
Attachments to money or material things
which when they're gone pain it can bring.
Attachments to the way we look and how we live,
Attachments that make us greedy and we don't share or give.
Attachments to property or the house that you own,
which when you're gone the deeds they will roam.
What type of attachments should we let into our life,
ones that won't cause you to suffer and strife?
That answer's different for one and for all
depending on how they place value on the large or the small.
Most people go for the shiny or new,
others only the Grand will do.
Personally I've learned to let go of it all,
keeping up with the Joneses is no longer my call.
I've given away so many material things
that I once treasured and they made my heart sing.
If you want possessions and want to be free,
Try to always balance the nice from the necessity.
