The Mask

We can see the winners, we can see the losers,
yet not always do we see those selfish abusers.
Hiding behind smiles, lies and laughter,
they draw you in for pain ever after.
Some are cunning and others just cruel,
manipulating your mind as a controlling tool.
So many people that fell prey to these users,
are tormented for life from their selfish abusers.
Your anguish isn't from a singular face,
it occurs as a curse within the human race.
Each child may live and each child may grow,
deep inside their pain may refuse to show.
Take the shame you've endured and the battle within,
and trust love again with an unselfish friend.
