Alone

Alone
I joined the Air Force in March of 79
I ran across a lot of Vietnam soldiers still serving their time.
They'd tell me stories about what caused them trauma and pain
I never knew back then I'd end up the same.
Many were angry they never got a welcome back home
when I came back from Dover I too was alone.
I wasn't in combat our out of country during the Gulf War
my duties at Dover were surrounded by gore.
I was NCOIC of the body handlers my fifteen man team
I wonder how many are still alive from what they had seen?
PTSD is stealthy and sly
and can make the most hardened to want to die.
So if this Demon runs amuck in your mind
I know from experience there's help you can find...
