The Price of Youth

 

I traded in my sneakers and shorts for bifocals and a cane.

The price you pay for losing your youth is such a terrible pain.

The things I did when when I was a kid now I’m paying for.

My aching back, my tired knees creak like an old wood floor.

But it won’t be long before I’m gone. It could be any day.

Then I’ll run through those pearly gates and remember how to play.
