Bipolar Relief

Bipolar Relief
Open your door let me set at you're table
try to understand me if you are able.
I am more than a diagnosis you see
for beneath my pain you'll find the real me.
My life hasn't always been shattered this way
there were times in the past my life seemed like play.
But now here I swing between happy and sad
causing me problems I never had.
Some came from my trying to find that null place.
The one which removes the pain, sadness and disgrace.
Alcohol was the drug of my choice at that time
It dulled my conscious for a while and I had a good time.
But it's evil spirits slowly began to creep inside of me.
And suicide then became the only way I thought I'd be free.
But I accepted I had a problem and without help I would expire.
I sought help and was medicated and now alcohol I no longer require.
I still have a diagnosis and take meds every day.
For a condition that won't go away.
So here it is most of my life in this note
hopefully others will find relief in what I have wrote...
